Tracking lighting is designed to provide task lighting for general illumination, as well as accent lighting directed to shine on a specific area or subject. The great thing about track lights is they are very flexible, they can easily be moved to point in any direction. You can also add light fixtures to the track or remove them, it's all up to you.
These overhead light fixtures are perfect for illuminating a painting, sculpture or a special plant. These types of light fixtures require minimum holes, they are easily installed on your ceiling, so the work involved is really simple, but the outcome is visually stunning.
There are 2 basic types of track lighting, low voltage (12V) and line voltage (120V). Very basic track light fixtures doesn't require any electrical knowledge at all. These basic systems have a cord attached so you can just plug the cord into an outlet. Personally to me this looks amateur. The more professional type of track lighting is not plugged into the wall. This system requires a professional installation to a junction box, as well as connecting an on/off switch.
- Track lights can be attached to almost any surface, walls and ceilings.
